When you organize a beaver festival for 17 years you wind up asking for every possible favor, tapping every distant relative or contact, calling in every conceivable chit. This particular chit grew up a few doors from down from my house, went to my highschool and got into all kinds of mischief with me as a teen.
julianne George retired after teaching music at Alhambra for years and now conducts the Contra Costa Jazz Band. So of course they made an appearance at this year’s festival. Why so you ask?
