I think I’m going to have to write an article about what to expect at a beaver pond. I was just talking to Rusty of Napa the other day about how amazing it was that the succession of wildlife they’re getting is following the same pattern we saw in Martinez, from turtles to otter and mink. I jokingly predicted that the next new species he would see would be a hooded merganser who came in to eat up all the fish.

Honestly, that makes me so happy. If our beavers keep up this no damming strike I might have to move!
This bit of holiday cheer arrived this morning from our beaver friend in SF.
And I had a very fun and long conversation with a producer from a national news show about Samantha’s article about beavers and water. If we’re lucky we’ll get a story soon!
