Another slam dunk from the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission.
How on earth did this slip by me? It’s five years old and still one of the best arguments I’ve seen about how beaver affect on salmon. I can see I’ve written about Mr, Trask before, but this should have gotten star billing. Don’t miss this.

July 24, 2023 at 5:34 pmLoggers and US Forest Service made it the highest priority to remove ALL vegetation, logs etc. in the northwest forests in the past…scouring the stream habitat for many decades. Then in the Sierras there were streams acting like plumes. Then over the last 60 years of Agent Orange these same people waged a war against the forest by deadly spraying of tough herbicides to check the growth of underbrush and weed trees like Alder (in the Northwest). In the urban/suburban areas of the west, non-point runoff has been polluting streams since settlement (let alone direct discharge of sewerage and paper mill waste directly intomthe rivers). The theory of “pollution dilution” has been the solution around the federal Clean Water and Clean Air acts. Then all those various “accidental” spills. Its no wonder, beaver and salmon still even exist!
