THREE WONDERFUL THINGS

Wow yesterday was  a magical day in which I guess the year felt anxious that it hadn’t given us enough to be thankful for so it through in  a little bonus package just to be sure.

The first is that we got our grant for the festival. Hurray!

The second is that our order of the cards for the activity  came and they are SOO CUTE! Remember is that kids get the cards the figure out clues to collect stickers and join the water brigade!

And the third is this and I’ll let this awesome video tell the tale.

I know this is usually an otter-free zone but this deserves to be rewarded. Finding mom and reuniting the same day is TOP NOTCH.

For beaver protection, the importance of community engagement for restoring/protecting wildlife is demonstrated in the PBS film “BRING THEM HOME”. It tells the story of the Blackfoot people’s ultimately successful efforts to re-establish wild buffalo on tribal land after 100 years of absence. While many dreamed of restoring their historical close relationship with buffalo, bringing buffalo to the reservation was controversial in part because the generations had grown up raising cattle on the reservation’s limiting parcels of grazing land. Community engagement required tremendous amounts of time, effort, and enthusiasm. “BRING THEM HOME” on PBS.
