Month: October 2026
Silicon Valley is ostensibly pleased about their beaver population. I often receive excited emails when there is a sighting. But lately they are more concerned with the salmon. Steve Holmes is a good guy doing the lords work for Alameda Creeks but apparently no one told him to be very careful about expressing beaver concerns to the media. They like nothing better to report on the problems beavers cause. Trust me, I know. This is ALL over my news feed this morning:
This week Microsoft Publisher officially retired. Every clever or attempting clever graphic I ever made I made using this beloved archaic tool is frozen forever.. That means the ecosystem poster, the climate change flyer, every newsletter, or burst of sarcastic energy I ever posted here or donated to the world has suddenly stopped being changeable forever.
I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced

Yes there are work-arounds and free tools I can still use but its the violent end of an era and I am in mourning. Once I was young enough to learn adobe photoshop, but those days are long gone.
The next good idea will have to push up from the soil like snow drops in the muddy earth. Publisher will not be there to bring it to light.
All Hail the mighty, fallen Publisher.
Rest in Peace,
