Big news from our friends and benefactors Peter and Nancy Lang, Safari West will become a non profit and continue its work,
Dear Friends,
|
We are deeply grateful that you have been part of the Safari West journey. More than 35 years ago, Peter and I began our work on land that was overgrown and forgotten — slowly transforming it into a wildlife preserve grounded in Research, Education, and Conservation (REC). From the very beginning, Safari West has been about caring deeply for the animals and sharing that sense of wonder with every guest who visits. Today, we are entering our next chapter. As we look to the future, we are guiding Safari West toward nonprofit stewardship through the newly formed Safari West Zoological Society — a thoughtful step that strengthens our commitment to REC and supports the animals we cherish for generations to come. What This Means for You Very simply: Safari West continues as it always has. Safari tours and overnight stays remain unchanged. We will continue welcoming guests under the name Safari West. Our dedicated team remains in place. The animals remain at the center of everything we do. This step is about strengthening our foundation — not changing the experience you know and love. Looking Ahead In the coming weeks, we will introduce a dedicated website for the Safari West Zoological Society, where you can learn more about this next chapter and what it makes possible for Research, Education, and Conservation. For now, we simply wanted to share this moment with you. Every safari is a journey — and ours continues. With gratitude for being part of this journey, Dr. Nancy Anne Lang |
From the very bottom of my heart, thank you Peter and Nancy for sharing your support and resilience with the crazy little beaver people in Martinez 17 years ago and every year since. Enjoy your well earned freedom.
