Valley Water in Santa Clara is the water agency that makes sure people at Stanford can flush and brush their teeth. They are not exactly beloved by the fish or wildlife groups in the area because the fauna rarely pay their waterbills, but they were cajoled into adding a fish monitor to track the number of steelhead that passed through their culvert,
Guess what else they saw recently?
Mind you this is in the Guadalupe River which where we have had beaver sightings for nearly a decade. Lots of times they aren’t doing so good, but this guy looks just fine. And a strong swimmer. Look at that current through the culvert or wherever this is. He’s working hard.
