June 27th – 8:00-8:15pm – One beaver was seen coming from the primary dam at 8:00pm and another one was seen in the same area at 8:15pm. It was a very high tide and it covered the dams. Also seen was a muskrat, two turtles and a bittern, which is a member of the heron family.HP, JR
June 24th-4:45 am – Two beavers cruising by the old lodge, then a smallish beaver bringing willow back from the annex, disappeared somewhere close to the primary dam. JR
June 22nd – 4:45am – One beaver working on the secondary, then another or the same one swam up to below the primary and noisily ripped out some tulles and went over the primary with his dinner and disappeared in the direction of the old lodge. JR
June 20th – 7:30pm – Several beaver watchers gather at the footbridge to see if there was any beaver activity. Around 8:00 one beaver came swimming down from the primary dam area and took some willow and went into one of the bank holes. After a long wait, at 8:45 a beaver came down from above with some mud and then proceeded to place it on the secondary dam. He continued getting mud and placing it in just the right spot. Finally, he got some willow and swam towards the bank and went in another bank hole.HP,JR.LB
June 16th – 5:45am – Dad beaver was seen climbing up on the bank to get a huge fennel plant that he took back to his home. Two other beavers were also seen along with one raccoon.HP
June 10th – 8:45pm – Beaver visitors were treated to the sight of three beavers this evening. Two beavers came out of bank holes by the footbridge and one beaver was sighted coming over the primary dam. One of the beavers was seen taking willow off the secondary dam and taking it into one of the bank holes. Earlier in the morning, a great blue heron was seen in the annex area. It was also noted that their was a human family of three generations that were very lucky to see all that was going on. HP,JR,CR
June 8th – AM – A big beaver was seen near a new bank hole above the footbridge. It looked like Dad. Also seen was a great blue heron flying over the primary dam and on over the footbridge.HP
June 7th – AM – Two beavers were seen. One beaver was larger than the other but don’t know if the large one was Dad.CR
June 5th – 5:00 AM 1 beaver at secondary, 1 beaver eating at primary dam pond. 6 am beaver observed at secondary, muskrat and raccoon. JR, CR, HP
June 4th – 5:15AM – A beaver was seen near the secondary dam.JR
June 2nd – 5:45am – One beaver was spotted swimming down stream and crossing over the primary dam. Swallows were also seen on the eves of the county recorders office.JR
