Because the beaver isn't just an animal; it's an ecosystem!

Do Beavers Eat Fish?

No. Beavers are vegetarians and eat only leaves, roots, tubers, greens and cambium (or the inside layer of bark). In addition to willow and cottonwood our beavers eat tule roots, blackberry vines, fennel, pondweed, and various scrub plants. People often mistakenly think beavers make ponds to catch fish, (and ponds help fish populations grow enormously), but beavers don’t eat them.

YouTube disagrees with you. Beavers apparently do enjoy fish on occasion.

We’ve seen that video, we think the beaver was trying the fish carcass to see it worth eating. He lost interest as you’ve seen. Beavers don’t even have the biologiy to break down the meat. But the will ‘try things’ from time to time. We’ve seen them eat bread and try eating tennis balls.

I have witnessed beavers working as a team to coral salmon and catch/eat them in Girdwood, AK.
