Our friends at the San Francisco Estuary Project are sponsoring a “Creek-Seekers” poetry contest as part of the annual Library of Congress “River of Words” project. Artists and Poets between the ages of 5 and 18 are invited to submit their creations reflecting the watershed nearest them. Here in Martinez we have LOTS to inspire. 100 finalists will be selected and 10 local winners will receive tickets aboard the Creek Seekers Express, travelling from Jack London square to Martinez with a guided estuary tour.
