They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. So I guess I guess I’m flattered. Two summers ago some higher ups at the Beaver Trust wanted to meet with me on line. Sophie Pavelle and Eva Bishop were extremely nice and complimentary and I figured it was about the great public-facing work we had done in Martinez and the festival. Maybe England wanted to start it’s own festival? What a great idea! I eventually found out it was about the ecosystem poster I designed and the great artist at Coyote studios had painted for us.. I would now describe that meeting as a very admiring, friendly, shakedown. Because when it was over I told them that they were welcome to adapt my concept for their own UK species without fee or recognition. Because, beavers. (more…)
